慈悲香緣

          宓雄以菊花、兰花、海芋、玫瑰等入佛画，为尝试将一切有情与诸佛同在的实相，具体呈现出来。据《大日经疏八》上说：〝花〞，乃蕴意慈悲，因为「净心种子于大悲胎藏中，故万行开敷庄严佛菩提树…」；同时「花性柔软，能使人心缓和。」所以，所有知名与不知名的花均为胎藏世界，像徵生生不息，也代表慈悲与永恒。
          When composing his Buddhist paintings, Mi Xiong utilizes chrysanthemum, orchid, calla, and rose to represent compassion. According to the eighth volume of Commentary on Da Ri Sutra, the nature of a flower is soft and gentle, like compassion, which makes a person’s heart gentle with love for all beings. This love manifests itself in service, much like a flower in its full bloom of beauty. Indeed, when compassion and merit bloom, they nurture the bodhi tree of wisdom. Thus, Mr. Xiong’s symbolic use of flowers in conveying Buddhist ideals expresses the reality that buddhas—the embodiments of pure love and wisdom—are inseparable from all life beings. Though we may not recognize all “flowers,” or acts of compassion, they are nonetheless of the same substance as wisdom, which is eternal and unchanging.
